This was our last big high mileage day. Along the way we saw a sign for San Diego that said 197 miles - this got us extremely pumped. We had two big climbs out of Lompoc and the rest of the day was flat with a slight headwind.
We had lunch in Santa Barbara at a pizza joint close to the beach. The sun was out and the temperature was safe for short sleeves. We took a series of bike paths out of Santa Barbara county into Ventura County.
We stopped at Rincon beach and checked out some dolphins. Ventura has its share of crazy people. While shopping for groceries, we witnessed an inebriated woman shop lift liquor and be chased by security around the parking lot while drinking her prize. Upon further inspection, a large percentage of the population looked to be battling addiction issues of some sort. We quickly packed up and high tailed it the hell outa there to our remote camp site at McGrath State park. Total miles for the day: 92miles
