Day 15 - Tuesday, July 10, 2012 - Happy Birthday, Brenda, from the misty fog

We rolled out into the misty morning fog from Salt Pointe State Park. Heavy twisting, hilly roads are difficult to navigate in the fog. Rain jackets only came off to accommodate rising body temperatures due to unforeseen climbs.

We stopped for a mini coffee break in Jenner at a quaint coffee shop. We indulged in fresh coffee and local organic pastries before setting back on Highway 1.

Lunch was consumed in Bodega Bay. At this point in time, much of the fog had burned off and we rested near a loading dock basking in the sun. One of the employees near the dock said we would never make it to San Diego at the rate we were going.

Post lunch the scenery consisted of cow pastures, where we witnessed the birth of a calf. Pretty amazing! Tomales Bay was a beautiful site for the remainder of the day, where apparently many oysters harvested.

We rode a total of 73 miles into a heavily wooded Samuel Taylor State Park where we set up camp. We're looking forward to our short ride into San Francisco tomorrow!
