Day 12 - Saturday, July 7, 2012 -

We left the KOA early at a casual pace, which continued throughout the day. The beginning of our ride led us out of Eureka off the 101, and through an agricultural area where we could take in the scenery and ride at a comfortable pace.

We lunched in Rio Del at a quaint Mexican cafe. Afterwards we soaked in the sun and let our food digest on the sidewalk. We merged on the 101, and exited quickly onto the Avenue of Giants (Avenida de Los Gigantes). Here redwoods line this road, creating a 300 foot canopy of awesomeness.

We rode 62miles into Hidden Springs Campground. It his secluded campground is sheltered by redwoods and we were able to score our own site, since there is no hiker/biker area here. This is Z's favorite campground yet. For dinner this evening we cooked potatoes, corn, and quinoa. We flavored everything with shiitake sesame vinaigrette and added avocado for good measure.
